Role Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Machine Learning Engineer / Python Developer to join our dynamic Data and ML engineering group within a leading financial institution in Tel Aviv. In this role, you will work closely with data scientists, providing scalable, production-ready solutions such as Python package development, REST API services, and data pipeline construction.

The ideal candidate is production-focused, delivering generic and scalable solutions for both batch and API-driven processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with data scientists to develop Python packages and tools
• Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs, including FastAPI services
• Build and maintain robust data pipelines for extracting, preparing, and loading data from various sources
• Automate workflows, implement quality checks, and monitor data processes
• Ensure infrastructure stability and scalability
• Support integration of machine learning and AI solutions into production environments

Required Technical Skills & Experience:

• 6+ years of professional Python development experience
• 4+ years of experience with Git/GitLab and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
• 3+ years developing REST APIs, including FastAPI
• 2+ years working with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• 3+ years coding in SQL with expertise in query optimization (MS-SQL, MySQL, Postgres)
• 2+ years working with NoSQL databases such as HBase, MongoDB, or Cassandra
• 2+ years of experience with Hadoop ecosystem tools: HDFS, Hive, Spark
• Experience with Kafka or other messaging queue systems – advantage
• 2+ years scripting experience with Shell – advantage
• 2–5 years experience applying AI/ML or integrating AI solutions
• Experience with AWS cloud services, especially S3, AWS Bedrock, AWS Transcribe
• Experience using OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or HuggingFace APIs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Solid understanding of machine learning and data science methodologies
• Strong production mindset with an ability to deliver scalable, reusable solutions
