Primary Purpose of Role:

To optimise player performance and reduce injury risk through the strategic use of GPS and performance monitoring tools, while contributing to physical preparation planning and delivery. This role involves close collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to support physical periodisation, gym-based programming, and on-pitch conditioning strategies.

**Key Responsibilities:**1. GPS Data Collection & Management

· Lead the setup, operation, and maintenance of GPS tracking systems for all first-team training sessions and matches.

· Ensure accurate data capture and maintain high data integrity across all monitoring activities.

· Maintain and update athlete performance profiles, including acute:chronic load metrics and historical training records.

2. Performance Monitoring & Analysis

· Analyse daily and cumulative external load data, including total distance, high-speed running, sprint metrics, accelerations, and decelerations.

· Provide reports to coaches and MDT on individual and team workloads, with insights linked to performance benchmarks and injury risk management.

· Use trend analysis to identify load imbalances, overtraining risks, and under-conditioning issues.

3. Support of Physical Preparation & Gym Delivery

· Assist in the design and delivery of individualised and team-based gym sessions focused on strength, power, mobility, and injury prevention.

· Supervise players during S&C sessions and ensure correct technique and intent, particularly for players returning from injury or with modified programs.

· Implement pre-activation, warm-up, and post-training recovery protocols aligned to physical goals.

4. Periodisation Planning & Implementation

· Contribute to the weekly, monthly, and seasonal physical periodisation plans in coordination with the coaching staff.

· Ensure training content, intensity, and load distribution are aligned with match schedules, tactical goals, and individual player needs.

· Monitor responses to training (GPS/load data, RPE, wellness) to inform real-time adjustments to periodisation strategies.

5. Player Feedback & Education

· Deliver regular feedback sessions to players using objective data to reinforce training intent, performance targets, and progress.

· Promote athlete engagement and understanding of performance metrics, workload management, and physical expectations.
