Commercial Manager

The Commercial Manager of Heathland (the Company) will lead a dynamic recycling company (Heathland) focused on sourcing, upgrading, and selling recycled materials such as PMMA, PC, and ABS. This individual will be responsible for defining and executing the recycling business strategy at Heathland, ensuring alignment with upcoming Trinseo's recycling plants, which will process significant amounts of waste (20-30 kt per plant). The Commercial Manager will oversee all business operations, drive profitability, and ensure sustainable growth by staying ahead of recycling trends in Europe and globally. In addition, the Commercial Manager will be responsible for driving strategic growth of the recycling business in Trinseo which will be an organic one as well as acquisitions of the recycling companies and building sustainable recycling hubs in Europe and other regions.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the company's strategy in alignment with Trinseo's overall objectives.
• Monitor and pivot the company according to global and European recycling trends.
• Oversee the sourcing of waste materials (PMMA, PC, ABS, etc.) and ensure efficient upgrading/compounding processes, overlooking at local operation.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
• Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
• Ensure effective communication and alignment across all levels of the organization.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's market presence.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate closely with Trinseo's recycling plants to ensure alignment and support their operations.
• Provide strategic input and resources to enhance plant performance and waste processing capabilities.
• Ensure the recycling company contributes effectively to the overall goals of Trinseo's sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Evironmental Science, Chemistry or a related field; MBA ore equivalent advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in a senior management role, preferably withing the recycling or waste management industry.
• Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
• in-depth knowledge of recycling processes, materials (PMMA, PC, abs0, and market trends
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Ability to pivot and adapt strategies based on emerging trends and market conditions.
• Proficient in English, Dutch preferred but not mandatory
