Job Summary

Cellular Switching Network Engineer is responsible for daily network monitoring and providing Tier II & III support for cellular network-related issues. This role involves working with Telits' partners and customers, diagnosing problems, logging calls, maintaining records, and triaging incoming requests to ensure proper resolution.

Objectives & Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot network connectivity between different network environments and the ability to increase productivity and continuously improve methods/approaches.
• Provide operations and maintenance (O&M) support for mission-critical communications systems including troubleshooting and resolving issues such as loss of communications, degradation of service and network outages.
• Manage day-to-day tasking for team comprised of IoT engineers & support
• Work with vendors, contractors, service providers, integrators, and other stakeholders to develop, communicate.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, proposed system drawings, network topology drawings, system design documents, system IP addressing plans, system security documents and test and evaluation plans.
• Monitors total data and/or voice network performance and capacities (hardware and software) and makes changes to optimize the network's performance.
• Monitors vendor software/firmware releases and tests/implements upgrades for software/equipment.
• Participates on Information Services teams to advise and review on the appropriate solutions to the health care/business problems. Performs the data and/or voice network equipment analysis for the installation and implementation for projects.

Requirements & Qualifications

• BSc Degree in Wireless, Computer, Electrical, or other Engineering field and 4+ years of experience
• Strong understanding of cellular and wireless communications systems and technologies: Cellular (4G, LTE, 5G), IoT
• Hands-on experience working with LAN, WAN, VPN, DNS, SSH, NTP, SNMP, RADIUS, etc.
• Hands-on experience implementing, administrating and troubleshooting network devices.
• Experience with Cisco routers, Nexus switches, and Juniper SRX series firewalls.
• Experience working independently with service providers.
• Experience with monitoring tools, e.g. PRTG, Wireshark.
• Experience with VMware, Hyper-V & Linux
• Experience/ Knowledge of communications networks (MPLS, Ethernet, TCP/IP)

• Excellent communications skills and the ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences.
• Excellent English (both oral and written) is essential for this role.
• Self-motivated and able to maintain focus in a pressured environment.
