The Role

We are seeking a Tokenomics Researcher to join our R&D team at Exponential Science, contributing to next-generation design frameworks for decentralized finance, RWA tokenization, and behavioral system architectures.

This role bridges economic modeling, system architecture, and protocol design, focusing on how incentive structures, governance mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks converge in sustainable digital ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate tokenomic architectures across DeFi, RWA, and impact-finance ecosystems.
• Develop quantitative models to simulate supply-demand dynamics, staking mechanisms, yield optimization, and network participation.
• Contribute to RWA tokenization frameworks, ensuring credible on-chain representation of physical assets with compliance and sustainability layers.
• Collaborate with system architects to translate research into production-ready protocols, integrating smart contracts, governance, and liquidity mechanisms.
• Analyze behavioral and market signals (on-chain + off-chain) to inform design and parameter tuning.
• Produce technical documentation, white papers, research papers, and visual dashboards to communicate complex mechanisms clearly.
• Participate in collaborative R&D with universities and institutional partners in Europe, Asia, and the US.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Economics, Computer Science, Physics, or Quantitative Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in DeFi, blockchain architecture, or digital asset research.
• Proven ability to design or analyze tokenomics, AMMs, or staking/reward systems.
• Strong quantitative skills: modeling, simulation, optimization, and data analysis (Python, MATLAB, R, etc.).
• Familiarity with smart contract environments (Solidity, Rust, or similar).
• Understanding of financial engineering concepts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating abstract systems into actionable insights.
