Job Title: Life Sciences Translator

Languages needed:

• English > Norwegian/Finnish/Swedish/Danish/Icelandic

We have recently seen a large increase in volumes we receive for Norwegian/Finnish/Swedish/Danish/Icelandic translation projects in the Life Sciences field. We are looking for freelance translators who translate, post-edit and review documents from EN > NO/FI/SV/DA or IS have at least 2 years' full-time translation experience and also those with a medical background.

The work is carried out in Trados Studio so experience with this CAT tool is desirable, but not essential.

We are interested in applicants who are keen to establish a regular and collaborative working relationship with us. RWS’s freelance translators have the unique opportunity to work closely with our in-house translators and benefit from their support and localisation experience.

Main requirements:

• Native speaker of Norwegian/Finnish/Swedish/Danish/Icelandic and fluent in English
• You must be specialised in the Medical/Life Sciences areas
• For Life Sciences: experience in the translation of Clinical protocols and reports, ICFs, medical device IFUs and manuals, pharmaceutical information and documentation, health records, clinical trial information sheets, ethics committee minutes, patient questionnaires, Summary of Product Characteristic (SPCS), Patient Information Leaflets (PILS),IP labels, redlining, research reports on diabetes, radiotherapy devices, patient journals, medical reports, In vitro diagnostics, Medical imaging and/or proton/radiotherapy.
• Experience proofreading texts in the Life Sciences area preferred but not essential
• A Bachelor degree in Translation or equivalent/Medical degree
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience performing translations for the life sciences industry
• CAT & Office tools experience
• A team player and enjoy working in an international environment
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
