About the Role: Mentaily is a digital health company transforming mental health. We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer who enjoys owning both application logic and infrastructure. You’ll design and implement integrations, manage login and access control, build and maintain our data models, and ensure seamless, secure operation of our backend systems.

This is a hands-on role — ideal for someone who wants to architect, build, and run production systems end-to-end in a fast-moving GenAI startup.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs that integrate Mentaily’s platform with internal and external systems (e.g., Power Platform, Azure Cognitive Services, LLM APIs).

• Design, create, and optimize database schemas and relationships (SQL / NoSQL) for scalable data access and integrity.

• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms(OAuth, Azure AD, JWTs, RBAC).

• Manage CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and environment automation across Dev and Prod.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize performance for APIs, integrations, and databases.

• Implement observability and security controls (logging, monitoring, secrets management, encryption).

• Collaborate with AI, frontend, and product teams to deliver features and ensure data reliability.

• Drive DevOps best practices, cost optimization, and environment scalability across Azure.

• Support and optimize containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS or similar).

• Collaborate with AI experts to streamline model deployment pipelines and optimize compute utilization (CPU/GPU).

• Drive cost optimization, environment scaling, and performance tuning across services.

• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement processes.

• Scale and maintain Mentaily’s agentic AI environment across cloud and production systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps engineering roles.

• Strong coding skills in Python, Node.js, or C# (preferably in Azure environments).

• Hands-on experience with Azure services (App Services, Functions, AKS, SQL, Key Vault, API Management).

• Proficiency in Terraform, Docker, and CI/CD tools(GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent).

• Experience with database design and management(PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, Dataverse, etc.).

• Understanding of authentication & access control frameworks (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SSO).

• Strong debugging, monitoring, and automation skills.

• A “builder” mindset — hands-on, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of systems from design to deployment.

Bonus Points

• Experience integrating with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or custom models).

• Familiarity with data privacy and security compliance(HIPAA, GDPR).

• Exposure to Power Platform or Microsoft identity ecosystems (Entra ID).

• Knowledge of multi-region architectures and serverless / microservices design.
