WINT is a leading provider of intelligent water management solutions, combining connected IoT devices with powerful cloud-based software to prevent leaks and reduce water waste across commercial, industrial, and construction environments.

We are seeking a Cloud Architect with deep software and AWS expertise to design, optimize, and guide the evolution of our cloud architecture. In this role, you will shape the backend systems, data pipelines, APIs, microservices, and deployment infrastructure that power WINT’s real-time intelligence engine.

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled architect with strong experience in large-scale distributed systems, modern cloud-native design, and AWS-based infrastructures. You will collaborate closely with software engineering, DevOps, product, and data science teams to ensure our system is scalable, secure, reliable, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design and evolution of WINT’s cloud-based platform, including backend services, APIs, data pipelines, analytics layers, and integrations.
• Define architecture standards, patterns, and best practices for cloud-native development, microservices, and high-scale systems.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Design and maintain AWS architectures that support real-time data ingestion from IoT devices, analytics workflows, and user-facing applications.
• Conduct system analysis to identify performance bottlenecks, reliability issues, and areas for cost optimization.
• Oversee the design of APIs and integration points for internal components, partner systems, and customer-facing services.
• Lead architecture reviews and ensure engineering teams follow architectural guidelines and principles.
• Work with DevOps to define deployment models, infrastructure-as-code standards, observability tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Embed security and compliance best practices into the cloud architecture.
• Drive innovation by evaluating new technologies and recommending improvements to performance, reliability, and scalability.

Required Skills and Experience

Experience & Background

• 5+ years of experience in software architecture, backend engineering, or cloud system design.
• Proven experience designing large-scale distributed systems or SaaS platforms running in AWS.
• Experience working in organizations that build IoT-connected or event-driven systems (advantage but not required).
• Prior experience with high-volume data ingestion, real-time processing, or telemetry systems is highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.

Technical Skills

• Deep expertise with AWS services (Lambda, IoT Core, ECS/EKS, S3, DynamoDB, Kinesis, API Gateway, CloudFormation/Terraform, etc.).
• Strong proficiency in microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, event-driven systems, and asynchronous messaging.
• Experience designing data pipelines using streaming or serverless technologies.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, identity management, encryption, and best practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and DevOps tooling.
• Experience guiding engineering teams on system design, performance optimization, and architectural patterns.

Advantages

• Experience with IoT architectures, device-cloud communication, or edge-cloud system design.
• Background in sustainability tech, proptech, or industrial SaaS environments.
• Experience with machine learning pipelines, anomaly detection, or analytics-heavy systems.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, or multi-account AWS management.
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup or scale-up environment
