The role:

The CAMO Manager & NP Airworthiness will ensure the continued airworthiness of the company’s fleet in compliance with EASA and Transport Malta regulations. This position leads a team of four within the CAMO department and oversees all continuing airworthiness activities. The position also involves close coordination with external maintenance providers to ensure timely and compliant aircraft maintenance.

Responsibilities:

Airworthiness and Maintenance Oversight:

• Ensure all aircraft remain compliant with EASA and Transport Malta airworthiness requirements.
• Oversee the Aircraft Maintenance Programmes (AMPs) and ensure all scheduled maintenance is completed on time and to approved standards.
• Monitor and ensure completion of Airworthiness Directives and other mandatory requirements.
• Coordinate with external Part-145 maintenance providers to manage maintenance execution and planning.

Policy, Compliance, and Documentation

• Develop and maintain the company’s Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME) and ensure regulatory approvals are obtained.
• Ensure compliance with the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and internal standards.
• Maintain and safeguard aircraft technical records; report maintenance occurrences to the CAA and manufacturers.

Parts, Materials, and Modifications Management

• Oversee the procurement and installation of components and parts in accordance with approved data and traceability standards.
• Ensure sufficient stock and spare parts availability to support operations and defect rectifications.
• Manage and approve modifications and service information in line with company policy and manufacturer guidance.

Team Leadership and Competence Management

• Lead and develop the CAMO team, ensuring all personnel are competent and properly trained.
• Identify training needs and maintain staff qualifications in line with regulatory standards.
• Continuous Improvement and Regulatory Coordination
• Review maintenance programme effectiveness and recommend improvements.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities on compliance matters and implement additional national requirements as needed.
• Act as Technical Director for the company’s leasing division when required.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in CAMO management or continuing airworthiness roles, of which at least 2 years should be in the aeronautical industry in a comparable (airline or CAMO provider / maintenance organization) position.
• Proven managerial experience, including managing technical staff, supervising a team, mentoring, developing competence.
• Experience with EASA continuing airworthiness regulations and operational requirements.
• Degree in Aeronautical / Mechanical / Electrical / Avionic Engineering or equivalent (or an aircraft maintenance technician qualification plus additional education acceptable to competent authority).
• Strong familiarity with management systems in aviation (quality systems, regulatory compliance, audit readiness).
• Excellent planning, organizational, communication skills; ability to think independently and propose process improvements.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Computer literate; able to work with technical documentation, regulatory manuals, maintenance records; comfortable with digital tools / systems (e.g. maintenance tracking, document control).
