### **Co-Founder (Technical)**

Wildlife Signal Research is an early-stage research venture exploring how large-scale, real-time environmental audio can be transformed into meaningful, time-sensitive signals.

The motivation behind the project is simple: there is a vast amount of live environmental audio already available in the world, but almost none of it is processed, interpreted, or surfaced in real time in a way that creates awareness, insight, or experience. This project is about building the technical foundation to change that.

### **What the project is (high-level)**

The system operates on top of publicly available live audio streams hosted by third-party platforms. This is an intentional design choice that delegates content legality, moderation, and creator compliance to the hosting providers.

From a technical perspective, the challenge is not “collecting sounds,” but designing a robust backend that can ingest, process, and reason over many concurrent live sources under real-world constraints: latency, reliability, bounded scale, cost, and failure handling.

This is not a content site, a passive archive, or a consumer audio app.

### **Current state of the technology**

The project is currently in an advanced prototyping phase. Core technical assumptions have been validated through hands-on experimentation, and several system components are already functioning in isolation.

The backend is being designed around a bounded, distributed ingestion architecture operating on top of public live streams, with an initial target scale of hundreds of concurrent sources. The emphasis is on robustness, isolation, and correctness rather than brute-force scaling.

The overall system architecture and product direction are intentionally still open and are expected to be shaped jointly with a technical co-founder.
