The General Counsel and Compliance for ICL Israel region leads and manages the regional legal and compliance department in Israel covering a broad range of legal disciplines including corporate, commercial, regulatory and environmental law, litigation and disputes, and compliance matters.

The role requires close collaboration with senior managers and business leaders to support the Company's strategic objectives while ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations and ethical standards across all operations and activities of the Company.

As a key business partner, the role provides practical, solution oriented legal advice that enables informed decision making and supports sustainable business growth. At the same time the role serves as a trusted gatekeeper, responsible for safeguarding the Company's legal integrity, managing legal and regulatory risk and promoting strong culture of compliance and accountability.

The position requires a seasoned legal leader with extensive experience in the Israeli industrial sector. This position reports directly to the SVP Global Chief Legal Counsel of ICL and works in close collaboration with the other regional general counsels of ICL worldwide and the Chief Compliance Officer.

Region: Beer Sheva, Hybrid One workday per week from home, with an option for one workday per week in Tel Aviv.

What will you do?

• Lead and manage the Legal and compliance unit in Israel, managing a team of 15 in-house lawyers and compliance specialists.
• Provide expert and strategic legal advice on complex commercial, regulatory and operational matters.
• Oversee all legal aspects of business operations, including contracts, litigation, compliance and governance.
• Develop and implement legal and compliance strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, as well as internal policies and compliance frameworks.
• Manage engagement and relationships with leading external law firms for various matters, litigations cases and disputes that also requires overseeing and monitoring budget.
• Support M&A transactions, joint ventures, and other strategic projects.
• Advise on risk management and dispute resolution.
• Acting as a guardian of the Company's legal and reputational interests while enabling the achievement of its business goals.
• Maintain strong interfaces and negotiations with regulatory authorities and local municipalities, ensuring effective communication and resolution of complex legal and compliance issues.
• Manage complex, cross-organizational contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk mitigation.

What are we looking for?

• LL.B. degree (mandatory); MBA or additional qualifications preferred.
• Licensed attorney in Israel with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Proven track record as a senior inhouse legal counsel or head of legal in an industrial or multinational company operating in Israel- mandatory.
• Significant experience in commercial law, contracts, and/or regulatory matters in Israel.
• Proven Experience managing and developing legal and compliance teams- an advantage.
• Proven experience in developing, implementing, and overseeing legal and compliance policies for an industrial and/or international organization, including operating within complex regulatory environments.
• Fluent in Hebrew and English (written and spoken).
• Strategic thinking and ability to align legal and compliance advice with business goals.
• A solution-oriented mindset with the ability to exercise strong and pragmatic judgment.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• High integrity and sound judgment under pressure.
