Full-Stack Engineer (Drupal / Vue.js / Java)

About the Role

This role requires a versatile Full-Stack Engineer who can bridge the gap between legacy systems and modern architecture. The immediate priority is strong Drupal expertise to unblock current team bottlenecks, with a roadmap to migrate services to a Java (Spring Boot) backend and Vue.js frontend.

You will work with a self-contained team building usable, accessible, and delightful experiences. We are looking for an autonomous self-starter who can take Epics, refine tickets without heavy overhead, participate actively in Scrum ceremonies, and is comfortable challenging assumptions or timelines when necessary. You should be a “thinker,” not just a “ticket taker.”

Key Requirements

Must Haves

• Drupal (PHP): Strong experience required. You must be able to navigate, maintain, and develop within Drupal environments autonomously. This is the primary skill set needed to support the team immediately.
• Vue.js: 2+ years of experience developing front-end solutions.
• Java: Experience with Java back-end systems (specifically Spring Boot). While the focus is Drupal now, the goal is to migrate to this stack.
• Autonomy & refinement: Proven experience taking high-level requirements (Epics) and refining them into technical tasks with minimal hand-holding.
• Web Development: 4+ years in general web application development.
• Testing: Strong experience writing code and testing your own code.
• Agile/Scrum: Experience with Agile methodologies and effective participation in standups and ceremonies.

Nice to Haves

• AWS: Experience with Amazon Web Services.
• TypeScript: Experience is a plus.
• Migration Experience: Experience migrating legacy PHP/Drupal applications to modern Java/JS frameworks.

Soft Skills

• Consultative Mindset: Ability to push back on unrealistic timelines and ask questions until requirements are clear.
• Proactive Communication: Comfortable flagging blockers early and raising a hand when off track.
• Ownership: Accountability for delivery milestones and the ability to unblock yourself.
• Collaboration: Thinking like a team member first (peer reviews, unblocking others).
• Language: Strong communication skills in English are non-negotiable.
