A seed-stage DeepTech startup with paying customers is looking for an exceptional VP R&D to join its leadership team and drive the next stage of growth. The company develops breakthrough sensing and perception technologies for demanding real-world applications. Its multidisciplinary team combines expertise across hardware, software, algorithms, optics, electronics, and system engineering to build innovative products that solve complex challenges at scale. This role requires a highly experienced, hands-on technology leader who enjoys execution, thrives in multidisciplinary environments, and knows how to transform advanced technology into reliable, production-ready products. Responsibilities

• Lead and scale a multidisciplinary R&D organization of engineers and scientists.
• Drive the transition from advanced development and prototyping to productization, NPI, manufacturing readiness, and commercial deployment.
• Define and execute the company's technology roadmap, engineering strategy, and development priorities.
• Oversee complex system integration across hardware, firmware, software, optics, mechanics, and thermal domains.
• Lead the evolution of advanced FPGA-based platforms toward future ASIC implementations.
• Establish high-performance engineering processes, development methodologies, and execution frameworks.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain top engineering talent while fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and collaboration. Requirements
• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 20+ years of experience in advanced multidisciplinary technology development.
• Proven experience leading R&D organizations developing complex hardware-software products.
• Strong technical background in one or more of the following: ASIC, FPGA, semiconductors, signal processing, communications systems, sensors, optics, embedded systems, or related technologies.
• Demonstrated success taking sophisticated products from concept and architecture through development, validation, NPI, manufacturing, and market deployment.
• Experience leading large multidisciplinary engineering teams, including engineering managers.
• Strong systems-level understanding and ability to navigate cross-functional technical challenges.
• Experience in DeepTech, Semiconductors, Aerospace, Defense, Robotics, Automotive, Industrial Systems, or similarly complex engineering environments.
