ScyllaDB, a global company that develops real time, big data database, is looking for an experienced and strategic General Counsel.

The General Counsel will lead a small but capable legal team, providing mentorship and ensuring best-in-class legal operations.

The General Counsel shall report directly to the CFO and work closely with other executives across departments such as Sales, Engineering, HR, and Product.

Scylla operates in an emerging industry with various legal requirements, as a legal counsel you will play a very central role in Scylla’s journey.

You will support Scylla’s business in Israel, India, US and Europe.

You will need to have a good understanding of our business partners, customers, processes, technology, and regulatory framework.

The position includes dealing with a variety of corporate matters and commercial contracts as well global employees and contractors related matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics (Commercial agreements, Privacy matters, labor law, corporate governance etc.)
• Communicate and negotiate with external parties (external counsel, vendors, potential customers etc.).
• Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights ( including employment agreements/amendments to employment agreements, ESOP grant letters, agreements with customers, NDAs, etc’)
• Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues
• Manage all international legal aspects with the external legal firms of our subsidiaries
• Manage a legal team of 1–2 in-house counsels
• Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization
• Creating processes and procedures to help support a rapidly growing, global business.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Laws degree from a leading university and a qualified lawyer in Israel - Must.
• 10+ years of commercial and corporate experience, from a leading Israeli law firm with High tech expertise, out of which at least 3 years in a General Counsel or Deputy GC role at a high-growth technology company - Must.
• Fluent in English and Hebrשew (both verbal and written) in a mother language level - Must.
• Prior experience working with large multinational customers and partners;
• Strong knowledge of SaaS, open-source licensing, and commercial law.
• Excellent and extensive drafting and analytical skills, with attention to detail, and strategic thinking, as well as solid experience in reviewing, commenting, and providing advice on commercial contracts
• Ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure.
• Exceptionally strong communication and interpersonal skills across all channels - Required
• Efficient and creative problem-solver, comfortable with ambiguity, complexity, and nuance.
• Able to take ownership of fast-paced projects with rapidly shifting priorities, managing them through to completion with patience, flexibility, and poise.
