Join an exciting and fast-moving InsurTech startup on a mission to reshape the insurance industry—by transforming the outdated process of launching and managing insurance products into something slick, intuitive, fun and wildly more productive. We're looking for a super-talented, hands-on Platform Team Leader to take charge the of the development of our entire platform.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and own the architecture, design and development of all platform backend modules.
• Develop reusable, scalable and secure infrastructure built for reliability, performance, and growth.
• Build internal and external APIs and data models that serve our front-end and integrations.
• Manage and mentor a small, high-performing development team.
• Collaborate closely with the CTO, DevOps, Product Management and Frontend engineers to deliver seamless, high-impact end-to-end functionality.

Who You Are

• A strong backend architect and hands-on engineer, comfortable designing enterprise-level systems and building them yourself.
• Passionate about clean code, smart abstractions, and thoughtful architecture.
• Skilled in modern backend technologies – Our stack includes Rust, PostgreSQL and AWS (but we care more about your thinking than your tools).
• Experienced in leading small teams and shipping real-world SaaS products in fast-paced environments.
• Comfortable collaborating with your peers — you listen well, speak clearly, and love working cross-functionally.

What You’ll Need

• 5+ years of backend development experience with modern backend technologies (Rust is an advantage).
• Strong architecture skills with a proven ability to design and evolve complex backend systems and scalable APIs.
• Solid understanding of backend technologies, including transaction management, databases, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience building SaaS or enterprise-grade applications.
• Strong communication skills and leadership instincts.
