SnkeXR is a , open-platform augmented reality (AR) headset purpose-built for the medical industry. It is designed to facilitate and accelerate the adoption and integration of AR technologies into medical devices and workflows.

With SnkeXR, medical device companies can develop and deploy customized applications directly on the glasses, or seamlessly connect their devices to enhance performance, functionality, and user experience.

We’re looking for a mechanical engineer to design, develop, and test optical and optomechanical systems and components.

Responsibilities:

· Mechanical design and development of multidisciplinary systems, with emphasis on optomechanics and thermal design. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components with electro-optical systems.

· Development of optomechanical mechanisms. Miniaturization, microintegration of components.

· Prototyping and validation of innovative optomechanical concepts and performance testing. Conduct experiments and analysis of prototypes to evaluate and refine optomechanical functionality, performance and reliability.

· Identify appropriate materials for optomechanical assemblies, considering factors such as strength, durability, weight, and heat dissipation. Evaluate and select suitable manufacturing processes, such as injection molding or CNC, to achieve cost-effective production while meeting quality requirements.

· Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality management systems. Follow regulatory requirement guidelines and ISO standards and incorporate them into the mechanical design and development process.

· Prepare and maintain detailed mechanical design documentation, technical drawings, and specifications, design history files (DHF), and manufacturing instructions.

· Collaborate with external suppliers and manufacturers to ensure quality and timely production of mechanical components. Support manufacturing processes, including design for manufacturability (DFM) considerations.

· Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in mechanical engineering relevant to state-of-the-art devices. Contribute to the innovation pipeline and propose ideas for product enhancement and future iterations.

· Process test data, summarize and make clear reports and conclusions.

Requirements

· Proven experience (over 7 years) in mechanical design and development.

· Passion for rapid problem-solving and delivering solutions in very dynamic environment

· Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks), GD&T.

· Experience with miniature mechanisms and optomechanical design.

· Matlab or Python scripting skills

· Experience in prototyping, testing, and design verification methodologies.
