We are looking for an experienced Tax Lead to own the company’s tax function end-to-end in a fast-growing, high-volume B2C environment. This role is suitable for either a senior tax professional or a qualified lawyer with strong tax expertise, who can combine technical depth with business partnership.

You will serve as the company’s tax authority, supporting growth, product expansion, and international operations while ensuring compliance and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the company’s global tax strategy and compliance across multiple jurisdictions
• Lead all direct and indirect tax matters, with strong focus on VAT, sales tax, GST, withholding tax, and digital services taxes
• Advise on tax implications of B2C monetization models including subscriptions, in-app purchases, marketplaces, promotions, refunds, and chargebacks
• Partner closely with Finance, Legal, Product, and Payments teams on new products, pricing, and market expansion
• Support group structuring, intercompany agreements, and transfer pricing from a tax perspective
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities
• Identify tax risks and provide clear, pragmatic guidance to mitigate exposure
• Build scalable tax processes, controls, and documentation suitable for high transaction volumes
• Support M&A, fundraising, and international expansion activities
• Prepare tax memos, positions, and summaries for senior management and the board
• Stay current on global tax law and regulatory developments impacting digital and consumer businesses

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in tax, tax law, or related advisory roles
• CPA, Adv. (lawyer), or equivalent qualification
• Strong experience with indirect taxes (VAT / sales tax / GST) in B2C, digital, or consumer-facing businesses
• Solid understanding of international tax and cross-border transactions
• Experience working with high-growth companies, startups, or multinational groups
• Ability to operate independently and own the tax domain end-to-end
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a business-oriented mindset
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
• Fluent English

Nice to Have

• Background in a top law firm or Big 4 tax practice

• Experience advising on digital services, apps, gaming, fintech, or e-commerce

• Exposure to app stores, PSPs, and complex payment flows

• Experience building tax infrastructure in a scaling organization
