Purpose

The Associate Product Specialist role focuses on developing and implementing clinical and training programs that support distributors, customers, and Conmed staff to drive revenue for the AirSeal and Smoke portfolios. It involves providing clinical and technical support to distributor sales teams, managing product portfolio integration, and ensuring all partners are well-trained on current and new products. Additionally, the role contributes to expanding Conmed’s market presence by strengthening brand visibility and fostering relationships with key opinion leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Become a product and clinical expert in the area of responsibility, including but not limited to all Conmed products, main competitors and new developments within the speciality.
  • Develop and ensure successful achievement of new and existing training and clinical programs for assigned products.
  • Ensure products and procedures are managed and marketed based on the 4P principle – product, position, performance and promotion.
  • Provide training and market reports as required and maintain appropriate records of business activities.
  • Deliver product launches, training, conferences, and labs/workshops as required.
  • Undertake global product and procedure activities, liaise with EMEA and global training and marketing teams, provide feedback on local market conditions including voice of customer/surgeon, maintain expert product knowledge and assess new product opportunities.
  • Develop training material and tools that enhance product knowledge.
  • Manage relationships with relevant manufacturers personnel (internal and external) to ensure information is shared and feedback provided.
  • Liaise with EEMEA Business Managers and undertake visits to distributors and customers to maximize relationships and understand market forces.
  • Develop strong relationships with key opinion leaders and key customers across the EEMEA territory.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, gain a full understanding of their needs and continuously look at ways to add value and strengthen the relationships.
  • Provide expert product support to the distributor sales staff and customers through education and spending time in hospitals and the operating room.
  • Develop and implement market and customer driven training programs including assessments tools for distributors and their staff.
  • Deal with day to day correspondence with internal and external customers as required.
  • Carry out other tasks as requested by your Manager
  • Understand and conform to company rules and policies, including business conduct, corporate ethics, quality system compliance and regulatory affairs requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Robotic, Laparoscopic, and Endoscopic procedures.
  • Clinical training experience within the Medical Device industry, particularly supporting operating room technologies.
  • Solid understanding of Advanced Surgical procedures.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to create a strong first impression and persuasively influence clients.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills across a variety of professional settings.
  • Proven ability to train, educate, and confidently present to large audiences.
  • Demonstrated capability to set clear personal goals, seek feedback, and consistently deliver high-quality, timely results.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on contributing to overall business success.
  • Ability to motivate and support others through regular feedback and guidance.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to understand customer needs and priorities.
  • High level of computer proficiency, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related tools.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to represent the company positively to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Leads by example through strong values, ethics, and professional conduct, actively contributing to a positive organizational culture.
  • Sales and/or Marketing experience within Medical Devices (desirable).
  • Previous sales experience in the surgical environment (desirable).

Travel

  • This field-based position requires regular travel within the EEMEA region, as well as annual travel to the US.
  • A valid driver’s license must be maintained and submitted to HR upon request.
  • Flexibility to accommodate travel-related schedules, including overnight or extended trips, as well as occasional weekend travel when required.
