Head of Data Infrastructure & Operations

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Team Leader for Data Infrastructure and Operations to join our growing data division. In this role, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of developers, system administrators, data operations engineers, and DBAs (including in-house staff, contractors, and vendors), while managing end-to-end data infrastructure and platform services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a cross-functional team including developers, sysadmins, operations, and DBAs
• Manage and maintain data platforms for development teams
• Operate and oversee the Data Warehouse environment and ETL/ELT processes
• Develop proactive and on-demand monitoring solutions for data processes
• Manage and maintain WIN/Linux servers and infrastructure components
• Lead vendor management and external service providers
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement new tools and technologies
• Develop data processes based on business needs
• Manage application lifecycles, including version upgrades

Requirements:

Professional/Academic Background:

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or BI-related training
• Strong understanding of data warehouse architecture and complex BI data models
• Hands-on experience with Oracle databases and Exadata
• Familiarity with ETL tools (preferably Informatica, DataStage, or Talend)
• Experience with Python – an advantage
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Snowflake – an advantage
• Experience with NoSQL technologies – an advantage

Required Experience:

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in BI and data operations
• Minimum of 1 year in a BI team leadership role
• Experience managing projects – an advantage
• Experience working in Agile environments – an advantage
• Background working closely with infrastructure teams (servers, networking, cybersecurity, databases)
